With nearly 10 years as a practicing therapist, Deanna has experience working with children, youth, adults and families. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings; however, her excitement lies within individual and group therapy.
Deanna’s passion is working with individuals who have experienced interpersonal abuse and trauma, as well as those struggling with the many challenges that come with parenting. In addition, Deanna works with individuals with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
Deanna practices from a trauma informed lens while incorporating traditional psychotherapy methods including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy. Sessions are tailored to the specific needs of clients.
Deanna feels inspired meeting people who are excited and motivated about making changes in their lives. Through collaboration, Deanna supports the client to identify and understand the underlying cause of symptoms and find coping strategies to reduce harm.
Deanna is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers, as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University in 2009, and a Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo in 2013.
